You want two things. The money, and an admission that you were right. Separate them. Take only the money. The admission is a product they do not stock.

Write down the date, the name of the agent and what was said. Ask once more in writing. If that fails, take it to the consumer protection office of your country. After that, let it go. A moment comes when your time costs more than the money.
