Question:“On letting go”

On letting go

Letting go is not losing. It is getting both hands back. While you were holding on, your hands were not your own.

Do not let go all at once. Decide to think of what you held only once a day, and put that once in the morning. Once it is thought in the morning, the hands stay empty until evening. Try holding something else with them.

When the raft from Calypso’s island broke apart, Odysseus clung to the last plank. Only when he let it go and began to swim did the shore come nearer.
