Question:“On laziness”
On laziness
Laziness is not a character. It is the body’s answer to work whose worth it cannot see. When the worth becomes visible, the body gets up.
Say out loud what waits at the end of one task you have been putting off. If it holds no worth for you, laziness was right; cross it out. If it does, do ten minutes now.
Hesiod wrote that hunger keeps company with the idle man. But what he scolded was a day’s work, not the whole of a person.
