Question:“On feeling guilty for resting”

On feeling guilty for resting

The person who feels guilty resting is the one who measures their worth only in hours worked. On that scale, every hour of sleep lowers the price. But even a bow kept always strung will break.

Before you rest, write one line of what you did today, and beneath it: “So I rest.” Once rest has a reason attached, the guilt falls away.

Amasis, king of Egypt, did the business of the realm in the morning and drank in the afternoon. When people reproached him, he answered that a bow kept always strung will break. Herodotus wrote it down.
