Lost trust does not come back through words. An apology is a knock on the door. Trust is standing at that door at the same hour every day.
Set one small promise and keep it a hundred times. Call on the same day each week; arrive at the hour you named. Even if they do not count, you count. Trust returns not through a grand proof but through dull repetition.
Aesop’s shepherd boy cried wolf falsely twice, and the third time no one came. Lost trust comes back only by counting the sheep on the days when there is no wolf.
