On taking a parent to the doctor

In the examination room the parent becomes the child, and you become the guardian for the first time. It is the day the seats change.

Write your questions on paper before you go. Take down what the doctor says yourself, so your parent only has to listen. Leave the questions about medicine and tests to the doctor. When it is over, share something warm outside the hospital. Do not talk about the illness there.
