On making friends

Friends are not found. They form between people who do the same thing together several times. Someone you click with on the first meeting is rare; someone you have met six times is usually a friend.

Take one thing you do alone and do it among people. Go to the same place at the same hour four times. On the fourth, ask a name. On the fifth, greet them first. The sixth takes care of itself.
