Question:“On a diagnosis”
On a diagnosis
A named illness is smaller than a nameless fear. Where there is a name there is a path, and where there is a path, others are already walking it.
Write three questions for the physician and bring them to the next visit. Ask not about the name but about the next step. Show the illness to the physician and the fear to one person.
The word diagnosis is Greek for knowing through. An illness that has been named is already half revealed.
