On being betrayed

Betrayal means the other person broke your trust, not that your eyes were wrong. Trusting someone who seemed worthy of trust was no mistake. They are the one who threw the worth away.

Do not spend a single day punishing them. Instead, list what they took, and beside it list what remains to you. The right-hand list is always longer. Meet the next person with that list.
